Beauty is a weapon. Said so, it is also true of revolt having romance as its counterpart. Both beauty and terror compliment each other. Nothing more than Renaissance stands as a testimony of art being a vehicle of revolution and change in Society. Art is charged with beauty. Beauty in the renaissance was a powerful weapon of Diplomacy.

It's eternal truth that the spirit of revolution comes from romance and vice versa…!! It wasn’t the fall of Paris when Hitler's Nazi troops invaded the city of Paris, but was the rise of Beauty which was preserved by the administration that stepped down. They surrendered themselves so that the beauty of the beautiful city would live long. It’s not a coincidence that the depiction of liberty Ascending from the heap of revolution comes from the French Revolution. She is the face of revolution that paved the path for human rights. Rights to the people, for the people, from the people. Democratisation of power. There is a silver lining of beauty to this dark cloud of revolution.

Furthermore, the more we peep into the history pages the more we find that the war, the revolts, the conflicts internal and external did not happen solely for acquiring the lands and expanding the territory. There was also beauty involved in this affairs, when the invaders destroyed the architecture and renamed the streets once won.

The Medici family often highlights conversations that I hold with my Artist friends and Renaissance lovers. Particularly Lorenzo de’ Medici who spent his life collecting books and art and died in remorse of not able to add more to the collection. He lived for the art so much that he was more invested in Beauty than his Bank. It was because of him that artists like Piero, Leonardo de Vinci, Sandro Botticelli, Domenico Ghirlandaio, Michelangelo Buonarroti and Antonio del Pollaiuolo came to light. These art created the art that inspired the vehicle of change in the human condition called Renaissance. The Medici Politics made him Lord and Banker but art made him a true King. He wisely used the Art in art bridge the diplomatic relations between then provinces like Naples and Venice stating ;

“ Artists are the true ambassadors of Florence, they fill Europe with beauty and knowledge and bind it together.” - Lorenzo de' Medici
